William Ouellette (Willard) (alt. Willie or Bill, Ouillette) was born of George Ouellette and Emma-Louise Montroy[1] on February 22nd 1914, in Alexandria[2].

He married Aldéa Carrière in Cornwall in 1936[3] and fathered Joan Willard[3] and Maurice Donald[4] (1936) Willard; the latter died one year later[4]. He later remarried with Doris Foster and fathered Joseph Ronald James (1938)[5][6], Marie Anne Eileen (1945), Mary Valarie Janet<nocat> (1950), Joseph Brian William Eugène (1951), Marie Jeannine Louise Sandra (1955), and Joseph Garry Lawrence<nocat> (1956) Willard with Doris Foster.[3]

He was a soldier in the Second World War, pictured in his military uniform at right.[7] One of his legs was amputated around 1980 for reasons yet unknown.[7]

Sometime before 1950, William moved to Trois-Rivières. There Ronald and Anne were baptised in Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, twelve and four years after their births, respectively.[3] In 1957, he and Doris became godparents to their grandchild Doris<nocat>.[3] He died in Trois-Rivieres on March 6, 1997, at the age of 87. [8]

He is a direct descendant of René Houallet<nocat>.

His name was spelled many ways throughout his lifetime, including Willie Ouillette on his birth certificate card, Williams Ouellette Willard on Ronald's birth certificate, William Willard on Ronald's marriage certificate, and Bill Willard to his grandson. His many descendants adopted the 'Willard' variation.
